LuxuryCertify

Luxury handbag authentication

Our story

Authenticity, evidenced.

LuxuryCertify exists because a handbag's story is only as good as the evidence behind it. The replicas of the last decade are not the obvious fakes of the past — the grain, the hardware weight, the stamp, all of it is copied. What separates an original from a copy is a set of small, specific markers that have to be checked one at a time against the recorded marker conventions for the brand and line.

We built a service that does exactly that, records what it compared, and gives the item a verdict you can pass on — to a buyer, a consignor, a platform or an insurer.

LuxuryCertify uses AI-assisted photo assessment with a human-review process. Your report is released at the end of the service window you choose. The finding itself is never altered to meet a deadline: if no usable assessment is ready, the review is reported as delayed instead.

Our mission

Every luxury item should be able to prove what it is.

We document the visible truth of an item so that buying, selling and insuring one relies on something better than a hunch: a written, check-by-check finding attached to the photographs it was drawn from.

The method

What every report examines

Four areas sit behind every report. The photographs are compared against the recorded marker conventions for the brand and line named, and every check that was run is named in the report with what it was compared against.

Leather and materials

Tannage, grain, sheen and the way a hide sits at the seams, compared against reference material from the same era and line.

Hardware and finishing

Plating tone, engraving depth, the weight and travel of a latch, and the paint at the edges of a strap.

Stamps and date codes

Typography, depth and placement of the heat stamp, and whether the date code matches the year the item claims to be.

Construction and line history

Stitch counts, alignment, interior lining, and the known replica families for that particular model.

How we work

Four rules we do not bend

  1. 1

    Only what the photographs show

We never fill gaps with assumptions. If a marker cannot be judged from your images, the report says so.

  2. 2

    Every check is named

Each marker examined is listed with what it was compared against, so the reasoning behind the verdict is visible.

  3. 3

    Inconclusive is a real answer

Where the evidence genuinely points both ways, we say inconclusive rather than guess in either direction.

  4. 4

    No stake in the trade

We do not buy, sell or consign handbags. The finding, not a sale, is what we are paid for.

Who we work for

A report you can hand to someone else

Buyers, before they pay

Confirm a bag on a resale platform or in a private sale before the money moves.

Sellers and consignors

Back a listing with a documented finding instead of a description.

Platforms and insurers

A check-by-check record to attach to a dispute or a claim.
